Sakhwata Abu Galawa is a dive site located in the northern Red Sea, halfway between Hurghada and El Gouna, Egypt. It’s a great reef dive suitable for all levels of divers, from beginners to advanced. Here’s all the information you need about this dive site:

Dive Description
Sakhwat Abu Galawa features a beautiful coral reef with a plateau at around 11 meters (36 feet) deep. The reef offers sheltered moorings, making entry and exit from the boat easy.
There are two main ways to explore the dive site:
Drift Dive: This is the most popular way to explore Sakhwata Abu Galawa. Divers enter the water a few hundred meters north along the wall and keep the wall on their right shoulder. This drift will take you over a beautiful coral garden teeming with marine life.
Reef Exploration: Divers can also explore the reef at their own pace, starting from the plateau and swimming south over the coral gardens. This option allows you to spend more time spotting interesting critters in the reef.
Marine Life
Sakhwat Abu Galawa is home to a wide variety of marine life, including:
Scorpionfish
Stonefish
Rays
Frogfish (if you’re lucky!)
Dolphins (sometimes pass by the area)
Colorful reef fish
Since the dive site can be exposed, conditions can be choppy. If you’re prone to seasickness, be sure to take medication beforehand.
Bring a reef hook to help you stay stable while exploring the reef.
Keep an eye out for the resident frogfish! They are well camouflaged but can be found in the coral blocks on the plateau.
If you hear dolphins, look out into the blue water – you might just be lucky enough to see them!
