Site Description Punta Norte

Punta Norte is a small peninsula located on the northern tip of Isla Múcura, Colombia. It is a popular spot for diving and snorkeling, due to its clear waters and abundant marine life. The area is home to a variety of coral reefs, as well as fish, turtles, rays, and sharks. Coral reefs:The coral reefs around Punta Norte are home to a wide variety of marine life, including fish, turtles, rays, and sharks. The reefs are also home to a variety of invertebrates, such as sponges, anemones, and sea stars. Fish: There are over 800 species of fish that have been recorded in the waters around Punta Norte. Some of the most common fish include angelfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, and tangs. Turtles:Sea turtles are a common sight in the waters around Punta Norte. Green sea turtles, hawksbill sea turtles, and loggerhead sea turtles are all found in the area. Rays: Rays are another common sight in the waters around Punta Norte. Manta rays, stingrays, and eagle rays are all found in the area. Sharks: Sharks are not as common as some of the other marine life in the area, but they can still be seen from time to time.
