La Parguera is a village located in the Lajas municipality on the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico. It is known for its bioluminescent bay, Mosquito Bay, which is one of the brightest bioluminescent bays in the world. The bay is home to dinoflagellates, tiny organisms that produce light when they are disturbed. As a result, the water in the bay glows with a magical blue light when you swim through it.
In addition to the bioluminescent dinoflagellates, the bay is home to a variety of other marine life, including:
Fish
Shrimp
Crabs
Snails
Starfish
Sea urchins
