Karwela – MV is a captivating dive site located off the south-eastern coast of Gozo, offering both shore and boat dives with a maximum depth of -42m. Ideal for experienced scuba divers with deep and wreck specialties, this full-day exploration includes the impressive Karwela wreck, a former Captain Morgan Cruises passenger ferry scuttled in 2006. The 50-meter-long wreck sits upright on a sandy bottom, with depths ranging from 30 meters to 41 meters. Safe for penetration due to pre-scuttling openings, the wreck features photogenic elements like a staircase and well-lit lower decks. After a surface interval, the Dive Base Team plans a second dive on the nearby MV Cominoland wreck. The Karwela wreck, along with its intriguing three decks and various openings, provides ample opportunities for exploration. The site also boasts the MV Xlendi wreck, scuttled in 1999, making it a must-visit destination for diving enthusiasts.
