Gurna Reef is a large reef located off the coast of Sudan in the Red Sea. It is a popular diving destination known for its clear waters, abundant marine life, and dramatic walls.
The reef is about 8 miles (13 km) north of Shaab Suadi and is roughly oval in shape, measuring about 1.2 miles (2 km) long and 0.8 miles (1.3 km) wide. The reef’s plateau starts at 25 meters (80 ft) and slopes down to depths of about 40 meters (130 ft).
