El Arrecife, also known as Altar de Virgina, is a submerged rock formation located approximately 480 kilometers (300 mi) west of mainland Colombia. It is part of the Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. El Arrecife is a popular dive destination known for its abundant marine life and clear waters.
