Site Description Almirante

The Almirante is a 200-foot steel freighter that was sunk in 1974 off the coast of Miami, Florida. It is now a popular artificial reef diving site, known for its abundant marine life and interesting history. The wreck is located in 135 feet of water, and is best suited for experienced divers. The Almirante sits upright on the bottom, with its superstructure still intact. The wreck is home to a wide variety of marine life, including fish, coral, sponges, and invertebrates.
