The Regina Wreck, also known as the “Molasses Barge” or “Sugar Wreck,” is a popular scuba diving and snorkeling site located just off the coast of Bradenton Beach, Florida. The 247-foot long steel barge sank in 1940 while carrying a load of molasses from Cuba to New Orleans. The wreck now sits in 12 to 20 feet of water, making it easily accessible for divers and snorkelers of all experience levels.
The Regina Wreck is a designated Florida Underwater Archaeological Preserve, and it is home to a variety of marine life, including schools of fish, sea turtles, manatees, and even dolphins. The wreck itself is a fascinating piece of history, and it is a great place to explore and learn about Florida’s maritime past.
