Cenote Ponderosa, also known as Jardin del Eden, is a large open cenote located near Puerto Morelos, Mexico. It is one of the most popular cenotes for diving and snorkeling due to its crystal-clear water, diverse marine life, and easy access. The cenote is roughly circular in shape and is about 60 meters in diameter and 25 meters deep. The walls of the cenote are lined with stalactites and stalagmites, and the bottom is covered in a layer of soft sand. The cenote is home to a variety of marine life, including fish, turtles, crocodiles, and even manatees. Some of the most common fish seen in the cenote include angelfish, butterflyfish, and damselfish. Turtles are also frequently seen in the cenote, and they are often seen basking in the sun on the rocks at the water’s edge. Crocodiles are also present in the cenote, but they are usually shy and will avoid contact with humans. Manatees are the rarest animals seen in the cenote, but they are sometimes seen swimming in the cenote in the early morning hours.
