The Al Qamar Al Saudi Al Misr is a large ferry wreck located in the Red Sea, north of Hurghada, Egypt. It is a popular dive site for technical divers due to its depth and size. The wreck is 125 meters (410 ft) long and lies on its starboard side in 83 meters (272 ft) of water.
The Al Qamar Al Saudi Al Misr was originally built as the Trekroner ferry in 1970. It was sold to the Saudi Egyptian Navigation Company in 1990 and renamed Al Qamar Al Saudi Al Misr. On June 18, 1994, the ferry suffered a boiler explosion and fire while traveling from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Suez, Egypt. The fire spread quickly and the ferry sank the following morning. Tragically, 21 people died in the disaster.
